Dice Roll
Before completing the written portion of the journal assignment, you must complete the dice roll. During the dice roll, you will identify specific characteristics of your “person”.
Instructions:
Roll one die one time for each set of characteristics listed below. Your “person” will have the characteristics for the corresponding numbers listed.
Characteristics:
**NOTES: If the parents are single (refer back to Journal 1), ONLY fill in the space for the primary parent and his or her parenting style (we are assuming that the child spends the most time with the primary parent). If the parents are married, roll for each parent and fill in the corresponding space.
1. Temperament of the child
a. If you roll 1, 3, 5 or 6 your person is EASY
b. If you roll 2 your person is DIFFICULT
c. If you roll 4 your person is SLOW-TO-WARM-UP
2. Primary parent’s parenting style
a. If you roll 1 or 5 the parent of your person is AUTHORITATIVE
b. If you roll 2 or 4 the parent of your person is AUTHORITARIAN
c. If you roll 3 or 6 the parent of your person is PERMISSIVE/INDULGENT
**If parents are married, complete #3 below. If parents are single, skip #3 and only determine the primary parent’s parenting style.
3. Secondary parent’s parenting style
a. If you roll 1 or 5 the parent of your person is AUTHORITATIVE
b. If you roll 2 or 4 the parent of your person is AUTHORITARIAN
c. If you roll 3 or 6 the parent of your person is PERMISSIVE/INDULGENT
